Cubitt Gallery, London N1

Studio P submitted a winning proposal for a unique project for Cubitt Gallery, an artist-led organisation based in Islington, London in mid-2015. Working together with the three distinct stakeholder groups - the Education team, the Gallery and the Studio Holders - Studio P developed and agreed a strategy for the conversion of an unused studio into a flexible arts education space suitable for a number of different uses - workshops, presentations and talks. Alongside this new space, equipped with storage, a kitchenette and AV system, renovations were also made to both the education and gallery offices, as well as the provision of an accessible WC and artist wash facilities. The project was publicly-funded, with a tight budget and timescale, and required close collaboration with both the stakeholders and a wide selection of generous-minded collaborators.
